Serratos was born in California, raised in Los Angeles,[dead link][citation needed] She began figure skating when she was three, and continued competitively for 10 years, saying, "My coaches were talking about the Olympics and it was really crazy. Now, I just do it for fun."

Her TV credits include a recurring role as Suzie Crabgrass on the Nickelodeon series Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, Zoey 101, and a 7th Heaven episode called "Broken Hearts and Promises." . She portrayed Angela Weber in the movie Twilight. Serratos reprised her role as Angela Weber in Twilight's sequels, The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Now she is currently on Maxims top 100 list for 2010. She ranks at number 65.

She has also posed for PETA, including a shoot for the group's anti-fur campaign in November 2009.
